WHY IT MATTERS

Elite Performance Requires Elite Monitoring

Your training is precise. Your nutrition is dialed in. Your supplementation is calculated down to the milligram. But when was the last time you had your heart checked?

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, and high-performance athletes are not exempt. In fact, the demands that intense training, elevated body mass, and performance protocols place on the cardiovascular system create risks that standard checkups often miss entirely.

Noble Health Clinic’s Cardiovascular & Metabolic Risk Screening is designed for athletes, bodybuilders, and active adults who push their bodies beyond normal limits and need medical monitoring that matches their intensity. Every test is performed on-site at our Las Vegas clinic and supervised by a board-certified physician — not a nurse practitioner, not a random provider at a lab draw station.

Whether you are on testosterone replacement therapy, running a performance-enhancing protocol, managing your body composition for competition, or simply committed to peak physical health, this screening gives you the data you need to train hard and stay alive.

What’s Included

What the Cardiovascular & Metabolic Screening Covers

All testing performed on-site at Noble Health Clinic in Las Vegas — no referrals, no separate imaging
facilities, no waiting weeks for results.

🫀

Echocardiogram

An echocardiogram uses ultrasound technology to produce real-time images of your heart’s structure and function. It measures chamber size, wall thickness, valve function, and overall cardiac output.

Why athletes need it

Intense resistance training can cause left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). An echocardiogram is the gold standard for detecting LVH and structural abnormalities before symptoms appear.
Performed on-site using diagnostic ultrasound equipment. Results interpreted by a board-certified physician during your visit.
❤️

ECG (Electrocardiogram)

An ECG records the electrical activity of your heart. It detects arrhythmias, signs of a previous heart attack, and electrical conduction abnormalities that may not produce symptoms until a critical event occurs.

Why athletes need it

High-intensity training can predispose athletes to arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, PVCs, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) — which can cause sudden cardiac arrest in otherwise healthy athletes.
12-lead ECG testing on-site with same-visit interpretation by a board-certified physician.
🩸

Comprehensive Blood Panel

Our blood panel goes beyond a standard annual physical, measuring markers directly relevant to athletic performance, hormone therapy safety, and long-term cardiovascular risk.

Key markers include

  • CBC — red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, haemoglobin
  • CMP — kidney function, liver enzymes, electrolytes, blood glucose
  • HbA1c — long-term blood sugar control and diabetes risk
  • Fasting insulin — insulin resistance detection
  • Thyroid panel (TSH, Free T3, Free T4)
  • High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) — inflammation marker
  • Testosterone (total and free) — for TRT patients
  • Estradiol (E2) — critical for men on TRT
💉

Hematocrit Monitoring

Hematocrit measures the percentage of red blood cells in your blood. Normal range: 38.3–48.6% (men), 35.5–44.9% (women). Above 50–52%, blood thickens — significantly increasing clot, stroke, and heart attack risk.

Why athletes need it

Testosterone replacement therapy and exogenous testosterone stimulate erythropoiesis — increasing red blood cell production. TRT patients and athletes on performance protocols must monitor hematocrit regularly. Any reading above 52% requires immediate clinical attention.
Same-day results from our on-site laboratory. Monitoring every 3–4 months recommended for TRT patients.
🫁

Liver & Lipid Panel

The liver and lipid panel evaluates liver function and blood fat levels. Together these markers reveal how your body processes the demands of training, supplementation, and any compounds you are using.

Key Markers

Oral compounds and supplements can stress the liver. Testosterone can shift lipid profiles unfavourably — lowering protective HDL and raising LDL — increasing cardiovascular risk even in lean, muscular individuals.

  • AST, ALT — liver stress markers
  • GGT — sensitive liver inflammation marker
  • Total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, Triglycerides
  • Total cholesterol / HDL ratio — heart attack risk predictor
🩺

Therapeutic Phlebotomy

Therapeutic phlebotomy removes approximately 450–500 ml of blood to reduce elevated red blood cell counts and hematocrit levels. It is one of the safest and most effective treatments for TRT-related polycythaemia.

Why it matters

Thick, viscous blood is one of the most underappreciated risks in the TRT community. It does not produce obvious symptoms until a serious event occurs — which is why proactive monitoring and phlebotomy are essential, not optional.
Performed on-site with physician supervision. No referral to a separate haematology office required. Some patients require this every 8–12 weeks as part of ongoing TRT management.

Who Should Get Screened

This Screening Is Critical For

Noble Health Clinic’s cardiovascular and metabolic screening is specifically designed for patients
whose risk profiles go beyond what a standard annual physical captures.

🏋️

High-Performance Athletes & Bodybuilders

Anyone training at high intensity, carrying significant muscle mass, or competing in physique, strength, or endurance sports. Cardiovascular risks compound over time with greater training demands.

💊

Men & Women on Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

TRT increases red blood cell production, which can elevate hematocrit to dangerous levels. It can also shift lipid profiles and affect liver function. Regular screening is a medical necessity for anyone on hormone therapy.

🔬

Individuals Using Performance-Enhancing Compounds

Noble Health Clinic provides judgment-free medical care. If you are using compounds that affect your cardiovascular or metabolic health, we are here to monitor your safety — not lecture you about your choices.

🏃

Adults Over 40 Who Are Active or Returning to Exercise

Cardiac risk increases with age. If you are starting or intensifying a training program after 40, baseline cardiovascular screening can identify risks a standard annual physical would miss.

❤️

Anyone with a Family History of Heart Disease

Genetics play a significant role in cardiovascular risk. If heart disease, stroke, diabetes, or high cholesterol runs in your family, proactive screening can catch problems early enough to intervene effectively.

⚖️

Patients on Medical Weight Loss Programs (GLP-1 / Semaglutide)

Rapid weight loss and the metabolic changes associated with GLP-1 receptor agonist medications benefit from concurrent cardiovascular and metabolic monitoring to ensure the body is responding safely.

Getting Started

How to Schedule Your Cardiovascular & Metabolic Screening

Getting screened is straightforward. Here’s exactly what to expect.

Call or contact us.

Call (702) 425-6125 or email contact@noblehealthclinic.com to schedule your screening appointment. Let us know if you are currently on TRT or any other hormone therapy so we can prepare the appropriate lab panels.

Prepare for your visit.

You may be asked to fast for 8–12 hours before your blood draw (water is fine). Wear comfortable clothing for the echocardiogram and ECG. Bring a list of all current medications, supplements, and compounds — complete honesty helps us give you the most accurate assessment.

Complete your screening.

Most screenings take 60–90 minutes and include the echocardiogram, ECG, and blood draw. Your physician will review initial findings with you during the visit.

Review your results.

Comprehensive lab results are typically available within 2–5 business days. Your physician will schedule a follow-up to review all findings, explain what the numbers mean, and recommend next steps — whether that includes therapeutic phlebotomy, medication adjustments, lifestyle modifications, or continued monitoring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cardiovascular & Metabolic Screening — FAQ

Everything you need to know about cardiac and metabolic screening at Noble Health Clinic.

What is included in a cardiovascular and metabolic risk screening?

Noble Health Clinic’s cardiovascular and metabolic risk screening includes an echocardiogram, ECG (electrocardiogram), comprehensive blood testing, hematocrit monitoring, liver and lipid panel, and therapeutic phlebotomy when clinically indicated. All testing is performed on-site at our Las Vegas clinic and supervised by a board-certified physician — no referrals to separate imaging facilities required.

High-performance athletes face cardiovascular risks that are fundamentally different from the general population. Intense resistance training can cause left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). High-intensity training predisposes athletes to arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Testosterone and exogenous compounds elevate hematocrit, shift lipid profiles adversely, and stress the liver and kidneys. A standard annual physical does not test for any of these risks. This screening does.

Therapeutic phlebotomy is the controlled removal of approximately 450–500ml of blood to reduce elevated red blood cell counts and hematocrit. It is one of the safest and most effective treatments for TRT-related polycythaemia (elevated red blood cell mass). Patients on TRT whose hematocrit rises above 52% are at significantly elevated risk of blood clots, stroke, and heart attack. Therapeutic phlebotomy reduces this risk and is performed on-site at Noble Health Clinic with physician supervision — no haematology referral required. Some TRT patients require this every 8–12 weeks.

No insurance is required. Noble Health Clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid, United Healthcare, SelectHealth, Molina Healthcare, Tricare, and most major plans. Self-pay options are also available for patients without insurance or whose plans do not cover this service. Call (702) 425-6125 to verify your specific coverage before your appointment and we’ll confirm what is and isn’t covered under your plan.

For TRT patients, hematocrit and blood panels are recommended every 3–4 months — more frequently if levels are elevated. For performance athletes without hormone therapy, annual full cardiovascular screening is recommended, with quarterly blood panels if using any compounds. For patients who have had a therapeutic phlebotomy, follow-up hematocrit testing is typically recommended 4–6 weeks after treatment to confirm efficacy.

Yes. Noble Health Clinic performs echocardiograms on-site using diagnostic ultrasound equipment. Results are interpreted by a board-certified physician during your visit. This eliminates the need for a separate cardiology appointment and allows you to receive a complete cardiovascular assessment in a single visit — with results explained to you before you leave our Las Vegas clinic.
Yes — and you absolutely should. Noble Health Clinic provides judgment-free medical care. We understand that many patients in the athletic and bodybuilding community use compounds that affect cardiovascular and metabolic health. We are not here to lecture you about your training or lifestyle choices. We are here to monitor your safety, catch problems early, and help you continue doing what you do — safely. Complete honesty about your current protocol allows us to give you the most accurate and useful assessment.
Hematocrit is the percentage of your blood volume made up of red blood cells. Normal ranges are 38.3–48.6% for men and 35.5–44.9% for women. When hematocrit rises above 50–52%, blood becomes significantly more viscous (thicker) — increasing the risk of blood clots, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, stroke, and heart attack. Testosterone replacement therapy and exogenous testosterone stimulate the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells (erythropoiesis), which is the most common cause of elevated hematocrit in the TRT community. Regular monitoring and therapeutic phlebotomy when indicated are essential components of safe TRT management.
